Looking for feedback on signature gathering

Postby brokenportal » Thu Oct 15, 2009 11:16 am

Hi,

I work with a monumental cause in a hard working upstart grass roots organization. We have at least a couple of petitions we are looking to get going, one to lobby the government, and one to gather support for a plan to generate awareness for it.

We are looking for petition writers for this government petition. Where might we find these? Is such a signature gathering as this second one something that people do? Does it have a name? Its more like the signatures on the Declaration of Independance than a petition.

Best Regards,
Eric

not to hinder your will to change things but, petitions to lobby with very rarely work. a much better use of you and your volunteers time would be to organize a letter writing or phone call campaign in less your doing an actual amendment to get on the ballot.

Petitoins to lobby do not require legal oversight. I good writer can create a powerfull statement that is used to "influence" the politician. I do not believe in lobbying as it is not real power. The ballot initiative process is pure power of the people and I really respect the intentions of this site. We must organize to keep the industry whole and form a new corporation to take over the contracts the crooked coordinators are taking. If you are not familiar with Arenza, you should include him on this forum. I will let him know about it, and we should all incorporate together. One of the contractors who is notorious for ripping people off is Jenny Bresslin of J.S.M. She needs to get sued along with Mark Jacoby, Derrick Lee and John Burkett.

I want to form a corporation with several pros and take direct contracts and really compete with the pro's. A new generation must take over. One that respects the constitution and our liberties. I do not want to work on petitions that limit peoples rights, only ones that limit government and give the country more freedoms. Our country needs us to make a revolution. Industry insiders like us must work together, and not compete as a bunch of petitioners and sub coordinators. Lets become the next generation of contractors by organizing and perfecting our industry to the point where we are the industry.

More power to the people!
